Alexander Wang SS 2017

Typically one of the most anticipated shows of NYFW, Alexander Wang brought down the house last night at his show.  The line was in keeping with Wang aesthetic: sporty and minimal, with a sexy, playful edge.  A woman in Wang is powerful, confident, and independent.  Let's have a closer look:

Look 4:

Much of the collection was reminiscent of undergarments, none gender specific.  This dress reminds me of deconstructed and reimagined bed linens from a guest house in the Hamptons by the sea. I love it.

Look 10:

Wang has always had an eye for contrast, which is evident in this bold combination of Red Delicious shaded roses, charcoal boxer-brief-esque cutoffs with a lace finish, and a bare midriff.

Look 19:

As formerly stated, Wang is not one for gender exclusivity.  He is one of many designers who have opted out of sending only female models down the runway this season.  Whoever it is worn by, I love this look.

Look 22:

Like a young, female Hugh Hefner.

Look 42:

The pants bring the lingerie-esque blouse back to a grungy reality.

Look 58:

West Hollywood bad ass.

Look 60:

Who better to send down the runway in an S&M strappy bralette and sequiny wrap skirt than Kendall Jenner?  It was amazing to see her back on the runway, which isn't nearly as frequent as it once was.

Look 62:

The final and (in my humblest opinion) BEST look of the night.  This gown is simple yet complex with the perfectly placed, thin straps and silk body.  Art.

Hit me with your favorites, as usual!  Enjoy the rest of this holiest of weeks, with me by your side and in your ear.

  1. I was completely taken by Look #4, the first one... until Look #62, which I agree with you about the simple, yet complex. I may have to stay with #4 though, if they'll put on two shoulder rather than one to give it even more a a peasant girl look... and do away with that shoulder pad. Shoulder pads should be illegal.
